Busy busy week

 

What a fun and busy week we've had. We did lots of interesting things.

We played some fun games with the Leaders during morning tea. Claire, Conroy and Dorothy were amazing leaders.

We had a visit from Mr Eco. He shared some important facts with us. Mr Eco came all the way from America to share how important it was for as citizens of this world to take care of it. We humans are responsible for a lot of the damage that is happening to our environment.

Sea creatures are dying.

 


We can make a difference by our actions. We are the eco heroes.

Avoid using single use plastic bags, don't throw your litter o the ground because it goes in the ocean. Sea animals are dying because they think our rubbish is food.

Room Two has our very own eco hero who recycles things into toys.

On Fridays we go to work with our buddy class, Mokoroa. This week they read with us and and then shared what they had done on their iPads. It was really cool to see how they had used Aurasma to share they writing. Next week they are going to teach us how to do this with our writing.

Room Two won the contest for bringing back our Waikowhai Celebration Day notice. We were given a special treat. We had pizzas and ice blocks on Friday for lunch.

What we did in Gymnastics.

 

Room 2 went to the hall with Mrs Rai. We did handstands with Rod. Then we switched over and moved to the other side to do some other things.

Mahdi

We did some handstands and some shapes. I made a motorbike shape.

Kiani

I did some handstands, roly polys,  star and motorbike shapes.

Josie

I did some skipping and jumping with my friends.

TeHani

Room 2 went to the hall. We did 360 degrees jumps, handstands, hopping on one leg and some balancing.

Surya

We went to the hall. We jumped and we made some shapes.

Shekinah

Room 2 went the hall to do gymnastics with Rod. I did some skipping and handstands. I made a pie shape with my hands.

Naweed

Today in gymnastics I skipped, hopped and juggled with bean bags.

Zara T

Room 2 went to the hall. and we did some juggling with bean bags. We had to throw the ball up and clap three times before it came down. I did some skipping and we did handstands with Rod.

Masi

We went to the hall and we did some handstands with Rod. I made a motorbike and star shape. I walked sideways on the bench. Then I hopped like a rabbit.

Today in gymnastics I did a handstand, made some star and pie shapes and I did some jumping.

Shreyas

Today in gymnastics I did handstands and some roly polys with Rod. We made some L shapes and star shapes.

Paityn

 Today in gymnastics I hopped, jumped and flipped.

Tui

Room 2 went to the hall because it was Gymnastic's Day. First I did a handstand with Rod.  Then I juggled with three bean bags. Next I did some balancing and skipping.

I did some juggling and skipping. I did some roly polys and handstands.

Huzaifah

Today in Gymnastics Idid a handstand and I did roly polys. I liked it. It was fun. I also walked sideways on the bench. I made star shapes. It was fun, fun, fun.

Eloise

Room 2 went to the hall to do gymnastics with Rod. We used some equipments. We did some juggling, skipping, hopping and handstands with Rod.

Daiki

We juggled with some bean bags, did handstands, walked sideways and hopped into the hoops.

Nerys

I skipped with a skipping rope and hopped into the hoops.

Koleka

We were skipping and rolling in the hall.

Zara

Listening Walk

Room 2 went on a listening walk. Everyone had to listen very carefully to the sounds we could hear around us. We walked for a while and then stopped. Mrs Rai asked us to be very quiet and still. We then had to share what we could  hear with a buddy.

 

 
 

We went back to class and wrote down all the sounds that we had heard. The next day we worked with Mrs Paterson to come up interesting words to make our writing more exciting. Here are some samples of what we wrote.

I heard the leaves rustling in the wind. I heard the cars going errr! It was very loud. I heard children running fast. I heard the birds tweeting in the trees. I heard the wind going woo! The wind blew the doors open and shut.

Nerys

I could hear a quack, quack, quack sound. It was very loud.  I think it was a duck up in the sky.

Eloise

I could hear a noise. I think it was a duck. I could hear a helicopter flying in the sky. It was far away. I heard a truck going vroom! vroom! It was very loud.

Masi

I heard the wind going woo! It was a soft sound.

Josie

I heard the trees rustling.  I heard a duck quaking loudly. I heard a door banging shut. I heard a truck going vroom! I heard the wind blowing.

Surya

I heard a banging sound. It was loud and near me. I think it was a door closing. I could hear a tweeting sound. It was soft. I think it was a bird. I heard a quaking sound. It was very loud. I think it was a duck flying in the sky.

Sharing News

Congratulations to our budding future star athlete, Nerys. Nerys brought in her achievement certificates and her trophy to share. We know that she is going to shine on our school Athletics Day.

 

Paityn also brought in her Free Writing book to share what she had written over the weekend. She had written a recount of what she had done with Mum with well detailed illustrations.
